I have a post all ready to go on why unity will be difficult, and I will share it soon, but it was such a downer after today’s events, that I have chosen today to focus on President Biden’s unrelenting, soulful call for a healthier politics. It’s not a new call from Biden. He ran in a Democratic primary calling for unity, even when he was mocked for it. Even when they said it would lead to his defeat.
As I watched, the tone was enough to just ... breath. As I re-read the text now, it’s so powerful. Practical, pastoral, friendly, and frank. Deeply personal and also universal. Definitely one for the history books. Congratulations to the writers and whole team.

It was an inspiring day and an inspiring speech. Our President will certainly have my prayers and hopes for success for him and our country.
